According to a study published by Comparethemarket.com, the United Kingdom now counts 3.5 million consumers who consider themselves vegans, a figure that grew 360% in the country between 2006 and 2016 (based on a survey carried out by Ipsos MORI).
Some 7% of British citizens are thus believed to choose food without – or with fewer – animal products and by-products, above all due to environmental concerns.

Vegan cafés are popping up like mushrooms, namely in London, and the trend hit a particularly significant milestone in January 2018 with the opening of the first entirely vegan pub, The Spread Eagle!

This new eatery is truly unique, especially when we remember that iconic pub fare, served along with beer, includes shepherd’s pie and other traditional pork and beef dishes, not to mention eggs!
