The tech behind it? The Baromate is a fun, collaborative, autonomous vegetable garden based on aquaponics. This technique combines aquaculture (raising fish) and hydroponics (the soil-less cultivation of plants) enabling plants and vegetables to be grown while using 90% less water.
The plants filter the aquarium water, absorbing the nutrients from the fish waste. This purified water then returns to the fish, and the cycle starts over again.
The results? A harvest of mint, strawberries, chives and tomatoes in our office.
Try it out for yourselves with AURA, a start-up that has brought together biophilia and businesses to create the Baromate: a vegetable garden ecosystem that integrates directly into your workspaces, promoting the well-being of your employees!
